Start small and grow something extraordinary. Each 6cm Dendrobium in the Designer Orchids Collector Series is the beginning of a personalised orchid haven — a space you shape over time with colour, texture, and life. These upright-growing orchids produce multitudes of colourful blooms from the tops of newly developed canes, and in some cases, even re-flower from older ones. With flowers that can last up to six weeks in a range of vibrant colours, Dendrobiums bring lasting beauty to bright indoor spaces or warm-climate gardens. If you can comfortably read in a room, there’s enough light for your orchid to thrive — making it easy to enjoy their decorative charm and rewarding growth.
Dendrobiums thrive in bright, indirect light — around 50% of full sun — and prefer to be grown in small pots with a well-aerated orchid mix. These upright-growing orchids are sensitive to cold, with temperatures below 10°C causing leaf drop, so they’re best suited to warm indoor spaces. Water thoroughly during active growth, reduce in winter, and avoid soggy mix or standing water. Repotting is best done in spring or autumn when new growth is about halfway mature. These orchids benefit from being slightly underpotted, which helps maintain even moisture and encourages healthy root development. Use a fine-grade mix with excellent drainage and repot annually or biannually. After flowering, trim the spent stem and continue regular care to support the next blooming cycle.
